Futures Recruitment Services are on the look out for an Accountant to join our client who are a Biotechnology company and are recognised as a world leader in the supply of diagnostic test manufacturing equipment.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for all financial accounting and reporting processes and will be responsible for the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance.

Main Responsibilities for an Accountant:

  • Maintaining accounting records in a timely, accurate and complete manner.
  • Closing of ERP system monthly and yearly.
  • Reconciling of all Balance Sheet accounts; preparation of reconciliations, roll forwards, intercompany reconciliations, etc.
  • Preparing of accounts receivable cash reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
  • Participating in the developing and training of relative business processors on financial control policies and procedures to ensure that all financial reporting standards and controls are met.
  • Preparing of sales tax returns, property tax returns, VAT tax returns, etc.
  • Preparing of lease accounting journal entries, reconciliations and roll forwards for all leases.
  • Working closely with the finance team and Corporate Controller to ensure all reporting and analysis requirements are met accurately and timely.
  • Prepare additional and miscellaneous projects and tasks as assigned and requested.
  • Ensuring that policies and procedures are adhered to in a consistent manner within the division, and that the financial reporting standards are applied consistently.
  • Responsible for preparing audit working papers on a quarterly basis, ensuring that all accounts are reconciled.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.

Skills & Experience required for an Accountant.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in financial reporting or financial analysis is required.
  • Experience in international currency accounting and IRFS will be an asset.
  • The ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with people at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, financial reporting and accounting skills are key.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and advanced knowledge of Excel are required.
