Bookkeeper – Job Specification
Location: Chichester (Office-based, Hybrid, or Fully Remote)
Salary: Circa £30,000 DOE
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate financial records using Xero accounting software

Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly

Reconcile bank statements and oversee cash flow

Process invoices, expense claims, and payroll where required

Support month-end and year-end accounts preparation

Assist with VAT submissions and compliance reporting

Provide timely financial reports and insights to support business decisions

Liaise with internal teams and external partners as required
Requirements:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping or a similar finance role

Proficient in Xero; knowledge of other accounting software is a plus

Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail

Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Strong communication skills

Previous experience within the property or estate agency sector is desirable but not essential
