Futures Recruitment Services are seeking a highly logical Data Architect for our client who specialises in Financial Services. This role will centre on the design, implementation and maintenance of data models and related architecture for our Azure Data Platform.

You will provide technical expertise in evaluating requirements, developing efficient assets and maintaining technical design documents, you will become a key part of the team with support for continuing professional development under the direction of Data Platform Manager.

Key Responsibilities for a Data Architect:

  • Provide expertise in evaluating requirements, creating technical design documents and applying an Agile development methodology.
  • Develop high-performing and secure data models and repositories that support our cloud data strategy including ingestion, validation, data quality, transformation, integration and modelling activities.
  • Monitor and optimise the data models and repositories to support performance and contribute to continuing process improvement.
  • Deploy new or implement changes to existing data models in line with the Change Management Framework.
  • Document and adhere to data platform policies, procedures and standards.
  • Collaborate with a range of internal or external stakeholders and contractors to develop data models.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of the evolving data landscape through continual professional development.
  • Operating within a Centre of Excellence, which includes advocating best practices, providing training, and sharing knowledge with peers.

Skills & Knowledge required for a Data Architect:

  • Proven experience working with Azure data platform services including Data Factory, Data Lake Storage Gen 2, Databricks, SQL Database, Synapse and Active Directory.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps to manage tasks and CI/CD development within an Agile framework.
  • Exposure to Azure Purview, Power BI and Profisee is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of SQL and PySpark data processing languages.
  • Knowledge of Json, XML, DAX and RegEx is an advantage.
  • Good working knowledge of parallel processing technology and data warehouse/mart architectures.
  • Experience working with non-relational databases and unstructured data is beneficial.
  • Ability to compile accurate and concise technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attainment of or ambition to complete Azure Data Engineer Associate certification.
