The Role

We are currently looking for reliable and hardworking Refuse Collectors to join a busy waste and recycling team.

This is a physically active role involving the collection of household waste and recycling from residential areas. You will work as part of a team, helping to ensure collections are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect household waste and recycling from residential properties

• Load and unload bins and waste containers

• Assist with the safe operation of refuse collection vehicles

• Follow designated collection routes and schedules

• Work as part of a team to complete daily collections

• Follow all health and safety procedures

• Maintain a professional and courteous approach when working in the community

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Carry out manual handling and other physically demanding duties

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Be physically fit and comfortable with a manual role

• Be reliable and punctual

• Have a good work ethic and positive attitude

• Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

• Be able to work effectively as part of a team

• Have good awareness of health and safety

• Be comfortable with repetitive lifting and manual handling

• Previous experience in waste collection, refuse, recycling, warehouse, labouring or other physically demanding work would be advantageous, but is not essential
