Futures Recruitment are currently looking for a Technical Services Manager to work in Brentwood to provide technical knowledge, support and guidance to the existing repairs team. You will identify any need for professional development within the team and work with them to achieve this. You will be responsible for guiding the team through changes to the White Paper and new Building Safety Bill.

Key responsibilities for the technical role

  • To ensure our Repairs and Maintenance contractor is completing services and providing relevant certification within the timescales set out in the contract.
  • To ensure all remedial works across all compliance areas are raised and completed accordingly.
  • To assist the Contracts Manager to manage and analyse the contract KPI’s for Mechanical and Electrical and all compliance areas, including cost control and undertake regular quality inspections. This involves identifying trends, liaising with the contractor and taking remedial action in the event of service failure.
  • To provide technical guidance to existing staff and ensure they implement this effectively.
  • To work with the Customer Care Manager to investigate, address and respond to complaints from tenant and leaseholders in accordance with the corporate complaint’s procedure. Also, to deal with enquiries raised on behalf of residents from MP’s Cllrs.
  • To ensure that the repairs team oversee works in progress including variations to the costed scope of the work, standard of workmanship and materials and that work not covered in the original order is processed correctly in accordance with procedures relating to variations.

To be considered for this exciting Technical Services Manager role, you will need the following experience:

  • Assisting in the delivery of Capital Projects, responsive repairs and planned maintenance of commercial and other non-housing properties.
  • Knowledge of and working with statutory and non-statutory compliance areas of Asbestos, Gas, Electric, Fire Safety, Water Hygiene, Construction and Design, Lifts and Retaining Walls.
  • Identifying gaps in knowledge and processes and providing full detailed breakdowns to senior management.
  • Developing, nurturing and managing relationships with key stakeholders, partners and supply chain contractors, ensuring social value and community engagement tasks are being delivered to a high standard.
  • Delivering Capital Projects, responsive repairs and planned maintenance of commercial and other non-housing properties where necessary.
  • Technical knowledge particularly around Mechanical and Electrical, knowledge of day to day repairs and maintenance management.
  • Experience as a manager of another compliance team, all round compliance management, knowledge and experience of contract management.
